I was afraid this was going to happen, sorry to be the bearer of more bad news for Diamond Pet Food kibble feeders. Here is the list of expanded recalls;
Brands Affected By Recall
* Chicken Soup for the Pet Lover’s Soul
* Country Value
* Diamond
* Diamond Naturals
* Premium Edge
* Professional
* 4Health
* Taste of the Wild
If you are feeding one of these, scroll down the page on the link given to see the ones that they have named.

Their history is not good, IMHO.
In December of 2005 , Diamond found aflatoxin in a food made at its Gaston, South Carolina plant, and recalled 19 products in 23 states.
In 2007 , Diamond was one of the many in the Menu Foods recall (the Chinese wheat gluten disaster), with various items among three brands they produced: Chicken Soup for the Pet Lover's Soul, Diamond's own brand, and Nutra Nuggets.
In December of 2009 , Diamond had cat food recalls because of thiamine deficiency.
These are what I had noted in a file I was keeping. I can't swear that it's complete.

Well, if I fed a suspect kibble (or maybe kibble period), and wasn't ready or able to do a balanced raw diet, I might go to canned to give myself some breathing space while I looked around for the right made-by-the-actual-company-on-the-label kibble (with no offshore ingredients, too, of course).
so what do i feed now??????? go to krogers and get 69 cent chicken 1/4 and just give them that????
I think you'd be pretty safe feeding something like Orijen or Acana while you figured out what feeding route you want to take next.
I'd prefer to do my research on getting everything balanced before just jumping into raw. I feel pretty good about the 2 above mentioned foods and working your way through a bag should give you the time needed to get everything figured out before jumping in with raw.

I'm 100% with you, as much of a raw fan as I am. A bad raw diet (like, say, the infamous ground beef with no RMB diet) is not good for any dog, and it's a disaster to a growing one.
Just chicken quarters isn't a complete diet. Better than just ground beef, but not complete.

But no one need be overwhelmed by raw either. It ain't rocket science. If you can feed a human child a balanced diet, you can feed a dog. The foods that are species-appropriate are different, but the same basic rules apply. Fresh, minimally processed whole foods, in abundant variety, and not too much.
An hours worth of reading on this site would give any dog owner enough information to know how to feed a raw diet. Any questions after that, I'm happy to provide coaching.
