That is funny! I'm thinking that titmouse is going to have some of the neighbor birds over when the nest is finished to show off that fancy Labrador butt fur.
I'm thinking someone should hold a mirror under that Labrador's nose to make sure he/she is alive and well!! LOL!! I did snort through my nose however - way too cute.
I had a GSDxCollie as a kid that would sleep through this. I raised a lot of baby birds and baby critters then and made her take them for rides around the yard on her back. She didn't pay much attention to them after a while. I think she actually enjoyed the company of one particular blue jay that hung around her all the first summer after it learned to fly.

I've had the birds take Tucker's fur when I'm furminating him and it's flying around the yard, but they never venture too close.
When I'm done I usually grab it up and then put it in a pile on the deck for them. I've seen sparrows and more recently some mourning doves grab some.
Surprised with the Mourning Doves. They're usually content with half a dozen or so stick in a pile. One of the laziest nest builders on the planet....Well, there's Cow birds. They lay their eggs in another birds nets and let the other birds raise them.

must be just Canadian Doves.
I'll assume they were taking it for their nest....but I definately saw them take some. Maybe they saw the sparrows and wondered what all the fuss was???
they are my favourite birds. We had a pair that nested in a big pine tree we had in our backyard growing up. They came back to the same tree for quite a few years.
then again...im just assuming it was the same pair...lol
