I have a herm sprenger quick release collar that has come apart. The clip that connects to the chain has two leg type things that have disconnected from the square plate. I have been trying to figure out how to fix this thing for the last two hours. I am at a loss as how this dog has managed to break this thing. Luckily I was just putting it on her and we were still in the house. Guess I will be ordering another dominant dog collar really quick. But if anyone has a clue how to put this thing back together, please let me know.
Leerburg no longer sells the quick-release prong collars because of their propensity to come apart. Ed made a video explaining why. I was unable to link directly to that video, but if you go to this page and scroll through the videos, you will see it.
I would suggest forgetting about trying to fix your collar and buying a new, traditional type of prong collar. (I'm also a little confused by your comment about the dominant dog collar.)

I would toss it, too.
(Also confused about what happened to your DD collar.)
I had a similar thing happen and had a heck of a time trying to figure out how to fix. The only help I can give is two close-up pictures of the clip so you know what it is supposed to look. I hope this helps.
My comment regarding the dominant dog collar? My German Shepherd has a tendency to break, bend, snap or mangle any prong collar I put on him. I learned very quickly that for everybody's safety, he needed a DD collar attached to his prong. My Malinois has a much smaller neck and I had not yet ordered her a DD collar. What happened was I went to take the dog outside for a walk. My Malinois despises any collar she has on, so immediately after putting her prong on, she shook herself and the collar fell off. So no, she didn't have a DD collar on. But she will from now on, along with a standard prong. Stephen, the first pic you posted is what I was talking about. The little plate came away from the end of the two liitle parts at the end of the clip. But this collar is going in the trash now. How I wish they would make stronger and safer collars without having to add more equipment.
