I am wondering about collars. Ramsey will be 5 months at the end of the month. He is wearing a traditional buckle flat nylon collar ( I was told those snap type can come undone).
He is at the max size,18", for the 1/2 inch wide puppy collar. To go any bigger, the next larger sizes (20 and over) are all 1 inch wide. That seems too wide for him. This one is getting tight. I am still having to work with the pulling sometimes when there are birds or other moving objects.
I call him and treat/ praise. But all I want is a simple collar like I have, but longer.
I would like to have a collar such as you are looking for.
My dog wears a cloth collar from Elmo's Closet when we go to town. It is an inch wide but is fabric so it conforms easily to his fat neck. It washes well and doesn't cause any skin reaction, and is pliable enough that it doesn't crease the hair. If he swims it dries quickly.
I am not a fan of nylon collars, I have seen skin reactions from those. I prefer leather but quality leather that does not stain the coat is hard to find.
Or if you want leather, here is a nice one that says it fits up to 21-inch necks. Again, it's 3/4 inch wide. One advantage of leather is you can punch extra holes, and there is usually enough room to make it a little longer.
I think you may be out of luck finding one that's 1/2 inch wide in the length you're talking about. JMO, but I'd want one a little wider, anyway, for a dog the size you're talking about.
I gave up the idea of nylon and decided to go for a rolled leather.
I found a website "Schaaf Leather Work". Link pasted above.
He is a great guy to talk to and understood my dilemma. Also told me it is a common concern. He will make a collar strong enough and comfortable enough for Ramsey. Granted, he will need another one later on, but this will be fine until he is able to wear a big dog size.
