My pit mix loves to tug like this. Looks like fun to me.
The only thing I do slightly differently is to ask the dog to release the tug every so often (my command is "drop it") and then the reward for doing so is to get to continue playing with me.
Whether or not it's correct, my thinking is that it continually reminds him that I'm in charge of the game, setting the rules (and reinforcing that very important "drop it" command to immediately release anything in his mouth.)
When I decide the game's over, I say drop it and then put the toy away until next time.

I teach drop it by "trading" the dog for whatever he has for something higher value (toy for treat, for example.)
When the dog has the toy in his mouth hold a high-value treat in front of him and say drop it. When he releases the toy, give the treat. Then return the toy.
Repeat until he will release on just the command without the bribe.

Same, but shes a vacuum machine so no play when food is present, she grabs then drop for her next treat.
But i keep playing like that, and on the garden because the floor is way to slippery(dont know if is the right word and too lazy to look it out >.<.

CONNIE: if I understand Milinka's meaning correctly (???) it seems like her dog is Anticipating another Treat as its reason for not Re-Engaging immediately on the Tug ... Maybe playing a game of "Two Toys" similar to playing Two-Ball would work BETTER for this dog than rewarding The Out with FOOD -- Just thinking aloud here
