Logan has been a bit tired lately...and I stopped giving him ace several days ago. He's been on an antibiotic for over 2 weeks now. Anyway I noticed two things that are concerning. One is just walking down the street his tongue looks blue as if he had been running....and his gums seems pale. His poop is normal, no diareah, no black tarry poop, no nausea or anything related to Rimadyl which he is now off of.
I read that anemia can be a side effect of the antibiotic. I'm going to call the vet tomorrow. Maybe they will have to switch antibiotics.
He'll run around in short bursts sometimes but has no endurance. He seems off to me.
A tired dog is a good dog, a trained dog is a better dog.
I called the emergency vet and they said to bring him in. The anemia is a pretty serious side effect and I don't feel right about giving him another dose of it and taking him in the morning. The exam is the only thing that costs more anyway.
Niomi, the drug is for an infected prostate gland.

He's not anemic. The vet couldn't find anything wrong with him. He said just to observe him, if it gets worse to take him back. He said his lungs and heart sound fine too. Weird. Idk. He is in his crate, he ate his dinner, tried to eat the vet...so that's normal...but he laid around all day today.

Thanks David. He is ok this morning, maybe he is just depressed from having that stupid cone on. I still think his tongue being blue is a side effect of the antibiotic, but as long as it won't kill him he's staying on it until he is better.
I also forgot the say his guard hairs are falling out.
A tired dog is a good dog, a trained dog is a better dog.
His gums were not pale at the vets last night, but his tongue was blueish and he is lethargic.
No coughing, no breathing trouble, appetite normal, he's just tired...I'll check his mouth again in a few. I would take him to another vet but I can't afford it...but if he gets worse yeah.
A tired dog is a good dog, a trained dog is a better dog.
Right now, they look pale and his tongue is slightly blue...he is laying on the porch tired. Otherwise he seems just fine...he'll get up and run around a little if I walk out there.
A tired dog is a good dog, a trained dog is a better dog.
