My training goal is to teach Molly the weave poles and the jump.
So far, we have nailed the jump! She loves it. and we are having a blast. Even working on catching a ball midair.
Now, for the weave poles. My plan is to start with two poles, and work my way up to six. However, I have no experience training agility, and would love any tips or advice. (we have no plans to do formal agility, just backyard fun) I am a shameless lure-er, not confident I can free shape the weaves.

Thanks for any help!
Keep in mind that I don't know agility, so if an agility person posts, they will trump my post. I'm thinking that six weave poles is a lot for a couple of weeks. I hope someone else will chime in. Someone who knows something about it.
Are you planning to start with a straight channel formed out of poles? Then moving them closer so she kind of has to bend around them a little?
I have seen this laid out in detailed steps, using markers. I can dig that up.

This contest got me off my lazy, old butt. If I finish by the 18th or not it's fun again rather then just sitting there thinking about how I should get back into training.
The journey is as important, if not more so then the destination!

BIG DITTO!
The journey IS the destination! The journey IS the joy -- for the dog, and for us!
Make a loop from pole to pole that guides the dog through. I know there should be some sort of video on youtube that shows what I mean. Kinda like hoola hoops.
Did I say hoola hoops with my outside voice?
