Hi everyone, my friend in canada has a young sarplainiac that she is looking to rehome. He is neutered, 11 months old and was gotten as a predator control/protection dog, unfortunetly he has developed a dislike of their other dog and is looking to rehome him to a one dog home preferably sarplainiac knowledgeable. He is located in canada. If anyone is interested let me know and I can get her contact info. Thanks.
My animals are not "like" family, they ARE family.
Are they aware that 11 month old dogs often test boundaries and some active management can overcome 'dislike' of pack mates? Just wanted to put that out there in case you haven't mentioned that already.
Try as you may.....some dogs no matter what you do, or how extensive your dog training knowledge....will never get along.
Not to say that sometimes with the proper management it can be done if taken slowly & managed properly...but there is no guarantee that it will work out no matter how well you try to manage the encounters.
I have had dogs that have taken a long time & a lot of management to get them to live together....but still need to be supervised under certain circumstances. Others that would never EVER get along no matter what or how long.
Thank you, this is not a decision they've taken lightly and they have tried to work it out between dogs but they feel the sarplaniac is serious enough to be trying to kill the other dog. So in the best interest of both have decided to rehome.
