With no details, we can't make meaningful suggestions.
But if you are caring for a young dog (or any dog) who is lethargic and won't eat, and you don't know why, he needs a vet. These are signs that call for investigation -- even more so when they are combined.
Hes gotten up. I pulled him off my floor and got him out to pee. I think hes pretty worn. Is there anything i can give him? Can i give chicken broth in water to get him to drink a bit more. He hasnt eaten much for the day. I am still worried about him. I dont want him to be uncomfortable or feel ill.
Sorry about any typos. Im a bit busy here and there with dogs.
Ill give info seeing as i have peace right now again.
Walked and jogged him from 10 am till.. i dont know whatever time i posted my first post today. (jogged sprinted on and off)
He came with me the entire day so..
I got him back into my house and he just wont get up. I mean, when i first posted i was pretty worried about him. I have never had a young dog not get up for food. And he had not eaten much the entire day, so i was worried he might need to get fluids in him, even if it means giving juice.
Just got him up to pee, pulled him off the floor.
We are back indoors, he had a couple pieces (nibbles) of his food, water, back to bed.
Should i worry about him? Can i give him chicken broth in water to encourage drinking?
Never had a dog that drank or ate almost nothing an entire day.
Just keep en eye on that...if he has a fever, vomits a lot, gets worse, has diareah or won't eat for more than 2 days...then call the vet. You can give broth to hydrate them that's fine.
My dog didn't eat for 2 days when he ate a chunk of ice next to the road....he otherwise acted fine, it must have been the chemical salt that made him feel sick. Any chance your dog did that?
A tired dog is a good dog, a trained dog is a better dog.

If hes not feeling completely perfect by the time owners pick him up, ill let them know to keep eye on him.
I'm pretty sure hes fine. Very sure. I'm boiling chicken right now, giving him the water when cooled down. Ill let you guys know if he actually drinks some bloody water! haha
I have never seen a dog drink water with such manners. I'm like DRINK DOG, DRINK! You walked and jogged bout 8 miles today.
Dog drank a good amount of water! Ill post in morning!
Thanks to connie for that great idea!
I gave him some chicken and rice and all dogs in the house are getting set for bed! Wake up time is in 4 hours!
Ill post then!
Eight miles of walking/jogging is a pretty good distance, especially if a dog is not used to it. Just curious. How young is this young dog, and what breed is it?
