I have a grandson of the now deceased but very famous Lary Bret-Bett , my dog Ivan's father is Archie Vedusk, with Lary being his. He is mostly Czech with a little DDR way back. All I can say is first, the pedigree is as good as it gets..Then Ivan at 4 months and 42lbs, dark sable is beyond eye catching. Add to that, he has the best defensive drive, and seriousness about everything, while having no fear, and a on/off switch that takes only a second or two. He can scent track about 100 yards, clear a 6 foot fence, and outrun my 5 year old westgerman/American working line SAR female Sheba. Anyone considering getting a Czech gsd that understand working vs show line...go for it you wont regret it..anyone having a dog from this line id like to know..thanks
At 4 months old the pup shouldn't be doing any jumping of any height.
"Clear a 6ft fence", "serious about everything", "best defensive drive". All at 4 months old??????? HMMMMMM!
Kin I have some of what yer smokin?

I agree with all that has been said. I highly doubt a 4 month old pup has much defensive drive. Even if he does which is very unlikely, the dog should not be working in defense at this age. Jumping a six foot fence eh? Completely irresponsible on your part.
Just to reiterate what Connie said, Listen to Bob and Anne, stick with this board.
That's pretty cool, Roger. I've never seen even a mature dog clear a 6' fence! Usually on a jump higher than about 4' they will "grab" the top of the wall and propel themselves over. Maybe you could post a video?
Sounds like one heck of a pup!
But did you really mean 4 months? Or typo?
The dark sable really is eye candy! Would LOVE to see some pictures or videos <3
Wow didn't expect the doubts and hate, and asumptions of my being ignorant..let me clarify a bit..on the 6 ft fence.. while at a friends house he was in backard and wanted to get to me while I was in the front yard. He scaled the fence and came over top..I'm not stupid enough to train him at this size or incourage him..but he did it which is a hell of a feat. as far as defensive drive..yeah hes just under 5 months,,however hes natural instinct in this area is better than many adult dogs I have seen..mabe its a see to believe thing, or mabe your dogs don't self drive at this age.. he does. I trained dogs while in the Navy and my brother trained AirForce dogs..I KNOW WHAT DRIVE IS. and no I'm not pushing my pup. He is driving himself mostly. and as far as SAR work.. hes a contender he will search a long time to find, and he finds..Doubt me, then feel free to come to Oklahoma and see for your self. And we walk 2 miles a day. I don't run him, however when he runs with my 5 year old Sheba he usually out runs her in straitaways..Anything I left out?
