So lately we've been at the vet, mainly prematurely because the s/o doesn't think letting anything run it's course is okay. We'll I pose this question to you folks since y'all have quite a bit of experience. Axle has a very slight runny nose but is sneezing quite often, other then that he is in fine health and acting 110% normal. I would hate to spend another hundred dollars on a vet visit unless absolutely needed. Any suggestions?

is the nasal discharge clear and watery or thick and colored? The latter would be an indication of infection that would require pretty quick treatment, IMO.
It could be a foreign body (grass seed or some other small inhaled thing or even a nose full of pollen) acting as an irritant--or it could be an allergy. Can you attribute the onset of this to anything that's changed in the environment? New carpet? New air freshener? Lots of new tree pollen in your area this week? Is it getting better or worse? Most inhaled allergens in dogs present as skin itching--are you seeing that as well?
Dogs' noses are a pretty complex and important organ. I wouldn't let an obvious sign that something is amiss go on too long without trying to find out how to get relief.
Clear and watery if anything out of the norm, he usually has a wet cold nose all the time. Nothing's changed out of the ordinary, vacuumed the house for the first time in way too long, cleaned out my truck but didn't put any air fresheners in.
