This is my first post on the forum here so ill start with a little intro.
Im from Australia and I purchased my first dog which is an american staffy (also grown up around dogs in the family home) about 1 year ago. In the past ive developed a serious passion about dog training and have been learning from wherever i can! My staffy has medium balanced drives so he is good to work and learn with.
In 2017 i will be potentially looking at a schutzhund pup. Essentially, my question is, does this pup need to seperated from my staffy if i am to raise it as a schutzhund dog? Or do they need to live seperately until the schutzhund pup is of a particular age?
Hi Dan,
I'm not able to answer your question, because I don't understand anything about Schutzhund. BUT WELCOME TO THE GANG! This is a fabulous spot to get an answer from some professional or some other experienced dog trainer who works in this direction. Good luck.

You should have no issues related to having another dog with your sport dog. However, you will have to be organized and structured enough to manage each dog individually, as your expectations of the two will differ. I would also be hesitant to leave them aloone and loose together. Some trainers feel like this can cause dogginess, which will interfere with training. IMHO, the best situation would be an outdoor kennel for the sport dog when you are not with them.
