It is heartbreaking to see the devastation and destruction caused by the flooding going on in southern Louisiana. I am deeply saddened to hear about the loss of life and property.
Since the PM feature doesn't work anymore, I'm going to post this here. We have a long-time member of our forum from that general area, though I don't know if he lives in one of the affected parishes. Duane, I hope you and Sadie are safe, along with all of your loved ones, family, and friends. If you can, drop us a quick line.

Myself and a few other members of the forum have been unable to use the PM feature for a very long time. It was reported, but I don't believe IT was able to come up with a cause or a fix.
I just wanted to reach out to Duane in some way. I'm glad you sent him a PM, Candi.

I'd been thinking about Duane the last couple of days also. Sure hope he & his family are ok. So much loss in an area still healing from past storms. So very sad. Thoughts & prayers for those dealing with such devastation.

I hope Duane gets in touch with someone soon, I have seen the reports of people trying to rescue their animals, I cannot imagine what those poor people are going through.
Thinking about you and yours Duane.

Oh God, I haven't realized yet, that Duane is from there. This is awful. Saw about it on TV. Really frightening even for those who live elsewhere, who can only imagine how horrifying such a disaster must be.
I hope you and all you're loved ones are safe, Duane. I of course wish this too for all people and animals of this region. But unfortunately it is not like that.

We are all worried about you, Duane. If you can, let us hear from you.

Thanks, everyone! In the middle of the madness, my third granddaughter arrived. She had low blood sugar and a bit of a heart murmur. Neither are critical in newborns as long as they level out immediately. She was put in NICU. Everything seems to be normal, but we are still waiting for her to be released.
New Orleans and it's suburbs, where I am from, escaped without severe flooding, thanks to improvements made since Katrina. However, less than 50 miles to our north and west, our family, friends, and coworkers are trying to save their lives and homes. Your prayers and best wishes are welcomed by all here. Thanks to Candi for sending the pm. I would not have known about this thread without the email notification.

DUANE, it's really GREAT to hear from you, and Congratulations on Granddaughter # 3Thanks, everyone! In the middle of the madness, my third granddaughter arrived. Now all of us will include HER in our Prayers & Best Wishes for you & the whole of Southwest Louisiana !!! (I do feel SURE that "Little Stormy" will be just FINE after a short stay in the NICU.) |
