I live pretty far away from other people who are interested in sport dog training, 4-5 years ago, when MSN and ICQ was around it was easy to be able to talk to people all over the world and get their views on dog training, and be able to share some views on dog training in general. What do people use nowadays? Only Facebook? Would be nice to have an "online mentor" to be able to ask questions and get some advices etc, but it's so much easier when you are chatting compared to a Facebook group or a webboard.
Any tips how I can find somebody which is willing to offer some advices and general dog talk through chatting? Isn't it really many chat applications nowadays?
While the discussions and advice may not be as quick and responsive as with a chat session, I can't think of a better place than this forum and the Leerburg website as a whole for getting all the information and advice on dog training that you are looking for. The free e-articles and videos and all the other training resources here are fantastic. You can spend months alone just going back through this forum and all its topics to get info on just about any dog training, behavior, and health issue.
I can only agree with Greg. I too have no people around me, who know something about dog training, neither are professionals within reach. I had to search for some knowledge online. So I met LB with it's wonderful courses, DVDs, articles and this great webboard. I don't know what I would have done without all this.
I have dogs with some problems, but happy dogs and I am happy too with them. I always find advices here, exchange of experiences and above all people who are fully interested in all kind of questions about dogs and who are out of a great attitude willing to help other people.
Try it out and you will see. Good luck to you.
