I saw a pic here of Herm Spengler Neck Tech Fun Snap hook Martindale collar.
I would love that snap hook on a prong collar!
I see the quick release prong collars but I would not want those....they don't look as secure even with any assurances.
The snap hook on a prong collar is just what I want. I hate the difficulty of trying to put it on and undo it and it's not fun for my dog.
In fact I'm trying to figure out how I can add a snap hook to the prong collar I have.
I have a regular neck tech with that snap. The attachment is secure but it's very fiddly to get attached and so heavy it throws the whole chain off balance. I haven't used it in months because I dislike the feel so much.
I have a prong collar. It's sucks putting it off and on. I think the design of the Martindale collar I mentioned above with the snap hook is fantastic. Why don't they make the same in a prong collar!?? Im sure it would be well received....!!!
Meanwhile I added another link to her prong collar so I'm not pulling so hard on her neck struggling to pinch the stiff prongs into place or to remove. It still is viable with the extra link though less chain spread out.
OMG -- What a SUPER invention !!! Now that I'm older-than-dirt, my dogs' Prong Collars have become a real pain-in-the-neck to use ... MY neck, that is Can't wait to try these on the Dobies as an E-Z addition to their Dominant Dog Collars, especially with my 85 pound "John Deer" male, LOL. Thanks for the GREAT tip, Kelly !!!
OK I rigged my prong collar with the snap hook.
:-)
I just want to replace the leader cord from an old retractable leash (with the snap hook attached) with high test braided fishing line.
I'm confident it is secure and has more strength than she can overcome.
