Has anyone used this dog food? I am currently feeding my Pup California Natural and adding oil and such. I found Solid Gold Wolfcub on a natural pet website. I will give it a try and see if it works out, but any input would be greatly appreciated.
Hi Chad.
I have a friend that feeds Solid Gold to her 'Golden' & is very happy with it. I have seen Solid Gold in one of the local pet stores here in Connecticut, but don't know if it is the same as the Solid Gold WOLFCLUB that you asked about. The one that I had seen had a gold bag with black lettering & a GSD on the bag. I have not been in this store for a while, so I don't know if the packaging is still the same or if they still carry it. I feed ALL RAW diet so I have not tried it. Hope that this info might help.
I have tried Solid Gold before. It didn't work for my dog and I ended up cleaning tons of runny stool with it. But, each individual dog is different as far as what works for them. Solid Gold is a good company though and they have been around for awhile. I have noticed that most of their food is low in protein as well as fat. Make sure this is what you want. Is there a reason you are switching from the California Natural?

I sometimes will buy a small bag and mix it in with a larger quantity of my regualr food, which is Royal Canin GSD formula...I am now on the adult formula( my pup is 8 mos old). Anyway, I like the Wolfcub food....
No one ever said life was supposed to be easy, life is what you make of it!!
Solid Gold Wolfcub/wolf is a combination of Salmon and Bison (Buffalo). I alternate between the Hundflocken and Wolf every month. Ive had my dog on it since he was a pup and never had a problem.. I still think RAW is best.
I have a 13 year old lab with some Hip & allergy issues. I was feeding her California Natural and decided I needed to try something else. I am looking at getting a freezer for the garage soon so I can store all the meat in there. I would like to start the RAW diet, just doing all my research on it first.
I was looking for somewhere to order California Natural online as well as some other stuff and found Wolfcub and bought the Adult food as well for the lab.
Thank you for the feedback.
Yeah I tried the solid gold because my dog has some allergies as well. You wont find the California Natural on the web as it is a Innova brand and they don't sell on the web. I am just switched to a food called Blackwood and I am pleased with it. I uses the lamb and rice formula. My bullmastiff seems to digest it much better and loves the taste. I tried Innova, Wellness, and Solid Gold before Blackwood. Again its all the individual dog and how they handle the food.
I used WOLFCUB and now WOLFKING. I took my GSD off puppy food at 4 months.
Supposedly this is like the BEST food out there, am i correct?
Im happy, He has a Beautiful shiny coat, hes a little on the LEAN side thogh, im thinking its bc hes really young yet, (fill in on 2nd year) and his stool is never runny from it.
My pup has been having runny stools to having bricks with California Natural. The runny is more like a thick mash potatoes. Wolfub is in route and should be here tomorrow. Maybe his stool will be more consistent.
