My boy is 9 months + now, i have an 'issue' here.....he poo way to many times in my opinion..........4 to 5 time a day with only 2 feeding.
Morning : - 280 to 320 gm of Canidae all life stages food (sometime i will add some ACV and Olive Oil with veggie puree and egg with shell)
Evenin Meal : BARF which include 300gm of beef, 10 chicken feets, 10 chicken necks and veggie puree with supps like vit c and e, salmon oil, epo, glucosamine, acv and olive oil.
Poo pattern :- 6:30 AM, 10:xx, 2 :xx 7:00PM and one more time before goto bed.
Once he has lost her fur in both ears and i read that 1 pil of salmon per 10 pound with vit e will help the fur growing back and i follow that and it work great i must say. But how to actually get the poo times under control.
Sometime if i fail to catch him at the time mentioned i need to clean up like hell.
Note : before (when he was about 3+ months to 5 months old) he don have such problem. Started to poo as he like at anytime only after 6 months.
I don't really think you have a reason to worry. Yogi is almost 2 years old, gets 1 meal a day and he goes at least 3 times a day. The only possible thing I see that could be causing a problem is mixing the raw and kibble in his diet. Raw food passes through the dog's system more quickly (8 hours versus 16 if I remember correctly, I'm not sure though) and that could be a problem but I'm not sure that what you are describing is even really a problem. It sounds normal to me. If I were going to change anything, I would start feeding 1 meal a day unless you have some specific reason for feeding 2 times. He's plenty old enough for 1 meal a day but then you would really need to choose between raw and kibble as mixing them in the same meal might upset his stomach, at least that is what I have heard. Yogi gets all raw so I can't speak from my own experience.

Hi I am also feeding Kane, (GSD) 8 months old Canidae All stages. I dont feed Barf at all but he also poops alot durring the day! I must say since switching to Canidae his coat is nicer, shiner and fuller, it was thining out before. But he also goes 3-6 times a day i would say. I also feed him twice a day moring and night. He seems to be happier this way that once a day. He also has had an increase in appitie lately. Wanting to eat double what I normally feed him, and nap a bit more. No signs off illness maybe a growth spurt? (Cant imagine him getting any taller maybe wider??) Anyways to let you know your not alone Kane also poops alot but hes doing so good on Canidae I dont plan to change it.
Good luck and sometimes we have to scrafice! LOL Id rather clean up more poop knowing Kane is healthier and coat is nicer. I dont think anything is wrong sounds normal from my experience. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/wink.gif" alt="" />
