All the smoke from these many Out-of-Control fires burning through multiple counties is absolutely choking here in San Francisco -- I'm wearing a filter-mask at my desk as I type & cannot see anything out my office window ... When you pray for the dear soul in this article above, please also remember Safari West, a wild African animal park that is under fire-threat as well, and the keepers who have stayed behind to protect their charges too !!! All these folks are choosing to stand their ground in the face of deadly danger for the sake of helpless animals they love, may God watch over them.

I also saw this on CNN. Apalling. Goose bumps all over. All those people, even those who got away with their life! They have to restart all or don't even know how. I saw also the tragedy of Safari West. Shocking. And all the other animals who have lost their lifes or don't recognize their surroundings any more. I heard the wind is changing direction and am praying that no other region will be devasted.

The devastation that I am seeing on the news about the California firestorms is just heartbreaking. My thoughts are with our LB members who live in the affected areas and of course with all the people and animals of the state of California. May the weather cooperate and the blazes soon be extinguished.
The news said that most of the missing are without access to phones, etc and will show up as they gain access to communicating with friends and family.

We are probably safe here ... we're 100 miles south of the wine country. (We did have a fairly minor 'quake a couple of afternoons ago.) I was actually amazed about the heavy smoke coming 100 miles.
I hope we hear some good news soon about the horse rescue and about the fires in general.
