A bit of a laugh, but my dear Harry, in close quarters on a small road, could not handle the hydro truck passing by, he lunged, he tried chase, hit the end of the leash, and did his bit again.
Except This time he decided to crocodile roll in front of me while I marched on, almost tripping me, and nicked my pants.
Hurt my back, his stupid antics.
This was a first relapse, but since my back is out, I need a surefire way to condition him to passing vehicles.
I was thinking, a day trip, to the town sign, and a few hour sit down on the bench at the sign, just to watch passing traffic for the afternoon, for a few weeks
I am not built for surprises. Today a walk was great, almost 2 hours of walking, some free runs, but every so often, I get a sneaky car he catches before me.
I may just be whiny, as my discs have been acting up since Monday.
But once the bird buses start up, either he knocks It off or I go solo when the back is being a pain.
On a horrid note, geese are in, robins tweet, and I am ready to hide til winter.

Did the dog Nick" your pants?
Being aware of the always possible "surprises" is a HUGE "need to do" when working with a dog that has issues.

Not sure if it was nick or claws.
Today I doubled the leash, with prong and slip, and he remembered that correction! As soon as he went for the leash he lost his air. Had him doing a perfect loose leash heel!
He is just being a brat. We had to walk around for 2 hours, cars are so scarce, I may do the sign sitting just so it can become background noise!
After 7 months, can I do slow biking? Than we can bike to the highway, 8km away, and he should be exercised enough to not notice cars. I can bike at a slow walk, with plenty of stops. Til mid may, than the bugs will murder me!

I think biking with a 7 month old dog is a bit to much yet.
Also, do you have a plan when biking with him?
You can be pulled off balance quite easily when on a bike.

When he is off leash and trotting with the skidoo, on e collar, he never breaks from my side, I plan on walking with the bike, and when no traffic is in sight, mount and off leash with remote collar, re leash around vehicles. With walking with e collar he does not stay in a heel yet. He prefers quicker paces.

I understand his desire for a quicker pace. They can cover a lot of ground.
I'm not really savy on the remote collars but I know the dog has to get used to wearing them to the point it doesn't know it's on.
Does he wear it around the house daily?
If so then it should be moved often so it doesn't rub sore spots in his neck.
With the very heavy coat they have yo also need longer prongs on the collar.

He has the remote collar on first thing in the am, and the prong is a med herm Sprenger.
The slip lead leash is a leerburg one, but I do need to purchase a new one as this one is getting old.
As he is young,we have plenty of time for bike training, and I do agree the bike would probably be dangerous at this point.
He will be introduced to the four wheeler next weekend, but since he Velcro himself to my side with the skidoo, we will have to slow drive, and teach him to stick to a safe distance from the wheels, maybe even pair it with the bike, and have him btwn but attached to the four wheeler, until he us used to the pace of slow biking. Right now he gets over excited with the four wheeler, so I just start it and sometimes let it run, until he gets used to the noise not meaning we are actually going anywhere .
