I have had on Oster Lucky Dog for years -- it is 20 and still working fine. Used it 3-4 times a year on a Springer Spaniel (and that hair is real fine and a pain to cut)as I was not into fine show grooming just keeping away from mats.
It is a lot cheaper than the A-5 and did well for such occassional use. I have clipped hot spots and injuries quiete well with it, too. It is nice to have a detachable blade for sending out for sharpening.
??? why are you shaving a corgi's butt anyway? or do we not want to know -- couldnt resist asking ???
I would go with the Andis single speed. They last long and do the job. If your going to shave the butt do you know what blade to use? Also is it the whole but or just the potty area? Depends on what area you are going to shave as to what blade to get.

I prefer the Oster. I've had mine for more than 20 years, and it was used professionally by me for at least the first 5 or 6 years....I would also recommend a 10 blade for shaving. The cut will be close, but not TOO close. (so as not to have me worry that you might clipper burn or nick the dogs skin.)
Good luck Will, happy clipping!
