What are some of the rank behavior that are seen in this breed? When this dog is out in public, does it have negative aggression towards other dogs?
I know many of the people with them here are professionals and police officers. Clearly your dogs will be trained better typically because of your knowledge and resources so I basically mean the breed in general.
I think the Belgian Shepherds are very similar in temperament to the GSD. There are a few quarky differences, and of course the physical ones, but I don't think that Mals are especially dog aggressive nor are they overly dominate. At least not any more than other working breeds. The main difference is in the level of prey drive and energy IMO.
I have heard that the Dutch Shepherds and the Malinois are more apt to get along with other dogs. Read that on a website though, so you never can tell. All those websites are full of crap. You can't trust anything you see or read on a website. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/laugh.gif" alt="" /> <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/laugh.gif" alt="" /> <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/laugh.gif" alt="" />
I think the Mals are a little more high strung and have more nervous energy. That is just an opinion.
I don't really know much more than what I have seen, because I wouldn't own one of the funny lookin' bastards. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/laugh.gif" alt="" /> <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/laugh.gif" alt="" /> <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/laugh.gif" alt="" />
I own a Malinois bitch. there is no dog aggresion but there is plenty of prey drive. Funny thing is that when she was a puppy up until 6 months there was only little prey drive there but after her first season for some reason it has gone through the roof. .. Great little girl.
I have a 3month old Male Mal and he has crazy object drive he will retrieve anything including metal objects. He does have a tone of energy. From what I've seen in my Mal and others they play serious with other dogs. I do not think the Breed in general is dog agressive like the pit bull.
