I was wondering if someone out there could tell me if my dogs are from show or working lines. When I got my dogs I didn't know that there are different lines of Dobermans (working/show). I just got the dogs from the kennel that was nearest to me.
Here are some dog that appear in their pedigrees:
Baron Vom Furstenfeld
Joeska v. Mooi Oavelt
Graf Guido Vom Franckehorst
Graf Quirinus v. Neerlands Staam
Barones Ko Ko vom Harrosberg
O'Pongo van de Doken
Hertog Alpha v. le Dobry
Vivre Vivien vom Franckenhorst
Golf vom Frankenlend
Dea Dolores Vom Franckenhorst
Baron Cesar v. Rensloo
Vitesse Vom Franckenhorst
Lorenzo Macho v.h. Wantij
Thanks <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif" alt="" />

I believe the majority are working lines, if not all. Some kennels use both for the "Complete Doberman." Such as Cara Dobermans, of course I don't agree with that but I'm sure if one got a dog from more working lines than not then it would be better than complete show, statistically speaking.

Well I saw some of them listed with Aldercrest, and I thought Needer Staam was a working dog kennel too. If it's show then, scratch my post. That link Lonny showed doesn't look good. It appears show

Some in the studs ped have a SchA but thats about it, they are from Poland so I can't really read the words, but make out a lot of CH.
So a mix of both it looks like, but dominate show. "Prob added working lines for good conformation" LOL

Hey Danielle, you already have your dog, why are you concerned about the lines? Just a question. . .

Thanks guys,
I found that the link to the stud dog was kinda incomplete. There are some titles that were left out on some dogs. I have no idea what they mean.
Baron Bryan Vom Harrosberg schIII,IPOIII,ZTP-V1A
Hertog Alpha v. Le Dobry SchIII,Angekort, ZVA-1A
Ok, I know what Sch is but what do the other things mean?
Sorry, please bear with me I'm new at this <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/blush.gif" alt="" />
VanCamp,
I love my dog very much and his lines aren't going to change that. I see a lot of people asking questions about their dog's lineage here on this board. I would like to maybe someday get involved in dogsports. I know that dogs from working lines are more driven and high strung than show lines. Plus it doesn't hurt to know what lines your dog is from right? My dog seems to be a combination of work/show lines. And I know that he is extremely high strung, hard as hell, and I have not encountered one thing that he get scared of or spooked by. So basically its a "if he's from work/show lines what can I expect from a dog from all work lines" kinda deal
Its nice to learn something new about your dog <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/wink.gif" alt="" />

Haha, very funny Lonny <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/laugh.gif" alt="" />
Yes, I still find mice that they have killed every once in a while.
But I guess its like you said "once hunters always hunters"
At least they control the vermin around here, I don't need a cat with those two. LOL

The ztp is a character test, you could read about it and what the titles mean in your pedigree on this site,
http://www.danika.com/library/library.html
Some of the dog you mention like baron von rensloo and alpha dobry have proven themselves as good sportdogs, it´s a combination of show/work, but if you shouldn´t use him for serious protectionwork, you shouldn´t worry, it´s still a far better pedigree than the american shitlines.
