I asked a friend of mine who is a breeder what he thought about a male that has a lot of Bingo is his pedigree.
He told me Bingo was a great dog in the field, but a scary dog at home and that I should run away from that blood.
I find this hard to believe. I know Germans are fantastic trainers, but this dog passed the Korung with highest scores, and the Dobermann Korung is not a joke. I've read he had an outstanding courage and was very hard.
Anybody on this board can give me more information?
I am not an expert but I would consider Bingo in a pedigree a good thing. From what I have read and heard he was one of the best dobermanns that ever lived. He was used by many to improve the Dobermann teperament.
He had excellent Schutzhund scores.
Sch I 99-96-100
Sch II 99-96-96
Sch III 97-96-97
He was also the first Dobermann to pass his Sch III with a score of 300!
Hi Pedro, I am curious, what lines does your breeder friend consider top working? What is his opinion of the Weyermuhle, Mooriche, Warringhof, Worringer Bruch dogs?
Even if Bingo was weird at home (which is extremely unlikely, given the amount of times he very successfully competed in top working trials and passed the Koerung with highest ratings in temperment), he did have the PROVEN ability to transmit correct, solid working temperments and drives to his progeny. He has been used by most, if not all, working breeders to improve working temperment. Bingo v Ellendonk's contribution to the working Dobe is indisputable, and having a pedigree linebred on him can only be construed as a plus, if you are interested in a working line Dobe.

He actually has used dogs that have a lot of Bingo, and with much success, improving temperament a lot. That's why I was shocked. It made no sense to me. I'll forget about it.
