Does anybody have a list of Doberman breeders, either Europeon or American that produce high prey drive and high defensive drive pups on a consistent basis. I want to purchase a pup but I don't know where to look.

Robert, the answer mahy well depend on how you
define "high" levels of prey and defense. But I posted a reply to a similar question only a couple of days ago. Kennels that come to mind include is Blitzkrieger Kennel, also Ascomannis, Danika, Warringhof, Briskas. These kennels all have web sites so you could check them out There are many others so the list above is by no means complete. Well known bloodlines for producing working dobes (which should have the high drives you are looking for)include ellendonk and weyermuhle - many well known dobes in the past have been line-bred on dogs from the ellendonk and weyermuhle kennels - but again, there will be other options - I'm sure other board members can assist much more than me. Good luck.

Hi Robert, we just happen to have two litters of very fine European Working lines available now... Both litters are well linebred on the greats, ie, Ellendonk, and Weyermuhle! You can see complete details by clicking on the Newsflash banner on our main menu page. We are working very hard to make Leidenschaft Kennels a name that is included in the top of the list!
Look forward to hearing from you!
Tammy.

Robert,
Another option is getting a pup from Butch Hendersons "Agir Miss Jakoso". Butch won the 2004 AWDF with this dog and is going to compete in the 2004 DVG Nationals with him as well. This is a very high drive Dob! If your close to the DC area you might want to watch him work during the Nationals. He actually has a young green dog that he is looking to sell. Hes about 15 months old and he is a son of Agir. A lady in florida is also going to breed to Agir soon. If you want more info in getting in touch with Butch PM me.

Yes Agir is a very nice dog, and has sired 2 litters at the Von Rubenhof kennel, and his pups seem very nice. They have a webpage and you can visit and view some videoclips of Agir's progeny. There is a litter due in that kennel at the end of June I believe (or maybe July). Its a Hilary Cerny Trun x Fabio Aba Sonia litter, and you should expect some really nice dogs from that combination.
Aside from the kennels mentioned above (which are all good choices) I would also check out Von Asgard kennels. I have personally met Linda and seen her dogs, and I can say that she has some of the best dobermanns around. She is very helpful and she really stands behind her dogs.
Good luck on your search

Ascomannis has some good results. Use weyermuhle, mooreiche, bayern dogs. Two guys who've been on the german and dutch world teams bought pups from them. Informative site http://www.ascomannis.com

I agree with the posts on this thread. They mentioned the main working breeders.
What I would do is to contact working groups and see what each line gives. Make sure what you're exactly looking for.
There are big differences between different lines of Dobermanns, when you get to know them.
I would go for Ascomannis or Bayern, or dogs from those lines, but of course there are others. Burgstaette, Jotunheim, Warringhof...
Best regards,
Pedro.

I've checked that usa dobermann forum site out. Personally, I don't care for all that non stop self promotion. Makes me sick. I prefer breeders who let their dogs do the talking. That jotunhiem woman from europe cracks me up. Complaining about some dog who never got his lifetime korung, when none of her dogs have ever been. Sure takes some nerve to put another dog down so much. Esp. when you breed as much as she does. I guess forum's okay for comic relief.
