Sorry Andy,
Even in the event that you were able to find photos of such a cross, it does not mean that when your dog breeds his dog they will look like that.
If I remember correctly you are overseas, right? And I also seem to think in an area where purebred dogs are not common. Why would you WANT to add to that?
When ever you mix two breeds like this you could end up with a great dog with all the positives of each breed, or a dog with the worst of both.
Personally, no matter how nice the bitch is, I would turn it down.
Don't mean to sound disrespectul, but you would be a very IRRESPONSIBLE dog owner if you took your coworker up on his offer.
This could be a prime example of BACKYARD BREEDING at its worst. What would you do with all the puppies? What would be the purpose of such a breeding other than to satisfy your curiousity? There are enough problems with APBT and rotties in my city and around NA. There is really no justification for this. Unless of course you're planning to start a new breed and put in 30 or 40 years of work. I doubt it.
Andy,
Where is your co-worker going with this cross.
I'm afraid I don't like where I think these pups are headed.
Andy, as well as all the reasons given, have you or the Pitbull's owner done any basic health testing on these 2 dogs? Both breeds can have problems with hip displaysia for a start, have both dogs been xrayed yet? What about other genetic diseases that either breed may be prone to? Do you know what these conditions are? Also, what about temperment? Do both dogs have the required temperment for their breed, and has it been proven by extensive training, testing, working of these dogs?
Even if you did all of the above I would still have to question breeding deliberate crossbreeds, as you still have very little guarantee in either looks, temperment or even health. Why doesnt the Pitbull owner breed to a nice healthy Pitbull? Or better yet, go out and find a puppy/dog that looks like what he wants and get that, instead of creating more poor mutts!
