I have a Grandson of VA Lasso Vom Neuen Berg SchH 3, World Seiger X Molli von Weisenborn, Sch 3 Canadian Siegerin.
I have the pup in preliminary Schutzhund training, but I'm also interested in the SV Show ring competition. The trainer I have does not train in SV show ring.
Does anyone have any recommendations for trainers in the St. Louis area who could help me in both Schutzhund and SV ring competiton. I would like to enter this pup in the 3 to 6 month category if I can find help in training.
While some consider this blood line as "crap". I'm very proud of this pup and hope to find someone to help us prepare for competiton.

Hope nobody gets upset!! <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/wink.gif" alt="" /> No I don't have a show dog!!
If you can't find one, the easeiest thing to do is experiment with different gating speeds in front of video camera with a wide angle lens from a distance. To seek or hire a "ring trainer" is unnecessary as far I am concerned. I would finish my working titles first so as there is no conflict as well. It worked for me. I did have help as far as what gating speed looked best and a little stacking advice but with a little inventiveness, you don't have to go through the trouble of dealing with a "ring trainer".

Ed has some tapes on the SV. Study one and then, as AZ Trooper said, view yourself in a video camera. Someone else can tell you all day what your doing right/wrong but if you see it yourself, it will stick much better.
i tried to do conformation and obedience with one of my dogs.
next time i have a conformation prospect, i will have a handler to do the training and showing.
the problem i encountered was that this dog had a lot of natural attention. for the show ring, i had to get her to not look at me because it breaks the line of the back. i had a hard time getting the attention back for obedience.

I showed in the breed ring and obd at the same time. My brother did the same with his dogs and put a CH on his Kerry Blue Terrier 2 weeks after he went High in Trial his second time in the ring in Novice A. His dog Kevy was undefeated getting his CH and his CD. The difference was just in the collars and how he handled the dog. They will learn the difference between collars.
