Hmmmm I seem to remember asking this question on another board recently! <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/wink.gif" alt="" /> <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/tongue.gif" alt="" /> <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/laugh.gif" alt="" />
I know who Ed will say (OTIS <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/wink.gif" alt="" /> <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/laugh.gif" alt="" /> ), but I'm sticking with my guns, I prefer Lewis Malatesta (yes that "ugly dog").
While Mink was as ugly as a Malinois I dont think he was one.
Gento on the other hand........ <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif" alt="" />

I had Lando Malatesta SchHI DPOI working in my K-9 Unit. He was a marginal dog due to environmental problems. Even a littermate with such problems makes me shy away from that blood.
There was a lot of hype about Lewis here in te US and I have not seen much out of him that made me sit up and take notice. Though, after working his littermate for years it doesn't much suprise me.
Lewis was over rated. I had a Lewis daughter that was sharp and nervy. I saw the brother to Lewis that worked in kevins department - he was a dog - nothing special.
It would be a mistake to consider these Minks sons as great dogs (this includes my old dog Otis) They were not - they were just animals that offered genes for part of the puzzle. What you do with thjose genes is all that counts - its like making bread - no difference.
