11:00 News CTV-Toronto...What a waste of film!
Down by the train tracks, where everyone walks their dogs off leash, there was another Pit Bull 'attack'. Although there was a fence dividing the dogs, the Pit Bull jumped it.
2 witnesses, one a woman with her own dog, the other a zealot who "Just saved some kid's life" (that's what she said to the camera).
In the background footage the owner of the
Weimaraner (my best guess) is getting out of an ambulance. Her dog looks fine. Apparently the Pit Bull had bit his ear. Nothing you could see from the closeup on the dog. The owner wasn't bitten.
The owner of the Pitt Bull is practically in tears while telling a tale of how her dog was
"trying to protect her".
Yes, both parties were wrong, they were breaking the leash law. But at the end of the day, what matters is the 'attack'. Now, I have only my few experiences of dog bite incidents to judge this on, but wouldn't call this an attack, per se.
It's good ammo for the proponents of the Bill,
that's for sure, and could have been prevented.
What really riles me is the subsection in the Bill where your companion animal may end up
either PTS or used in research. So is this what it's all about? Have we been so successful with the 'millers' that we now have to remove pets from the home in order to conduct research?
I read the article in the paper today that stated it was a Doberman. On the news last night I could have sworn they said that the witness with the dog had the Doberman...but it wouldn't be the first time I was wrong, lol.
Welcome you're probably right, I wouldn't be surprised if they said that, they make alot of mistakes, I don't watch the news so I missed it.
I just say, move out of Ontario .... total lost cause It won't be long before all short and long nosed dogs will be banned
I am hoping I can hop over the river to that "other" province as soon as possible. ... unfortunately, not soon enough

It may spread to Montreal ... but I doubt I see it spreading to the Laurentians. Hardly anyone even registers their dogs up there.
Mind you, in Quebec City right now there is a huge problem of all dogs being poisoned ... total anti-dog sentiment there
