So maybe I'm dumb. But I just went to my sisters house. She lives in Canada and I live here in the states. And I was wondering can I take my dog along with me? I wanted too ask the Border Guard but he didn't look like he wanted to talk. Has anyone traveled outside of the country (to Canada) with their dog, and if so what did they need to do.
If your dog is over 16 weeks old you will need to have a rabies certificate with you. Not a tag, you need a certificate. 98% of the time they will not ask to see it, but it is the 2% that can be jerkish about it.
Make sure to have "ALL" of his shots up to date and also have all the documentation from your Vet regarding his health.
I travel back and forth across the border several times a year, sometimes they ask you, sometimes they don't.
By law the are required to, so don't be offended if they do.
Just another note, don't wear your sunglasses while talking to them, take them off and look them in the eyes. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/laugh.gif" alt="" /> ...just a little hint... <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/laugh.gif" alt="" />
