I only tattoo my dogs - I may have to consider chips some day but I will never walk away from Tattoos - if a dog is stolen the police do not need a wand to verify a tattoo - I would be interested in hearing if someone knows the laws on this in Europe - not rumors please. When you intro yourself to the judge he will check the dogs ear for the tattoo. It is part of the trial. So no, micro chipping is not possible.

Is there one area where they are routinely tattooed? I had him microchipped. I was told the company provided free wands to county shelters across the country. Don't know if that is true or not. Erin

It takes two different readers. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/frown.gif" alt="" /> <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/confused.gif" alt="" /> QUESTION??? I know that to be so because I was in the country at the time the law came into effect. I don't know how it's played out since, but the hope was that by making sure that every last dog had some form of postitive identification, it'd eventually reduce the number of stray or abandoned dogs with no traceable owner.
