sorry to post this here in general, but i dont know if it is a puppy issue or a vetenary issue. my four month old pup, has one ear that flops forward at the tip. i am almost certain that it is the result of an injury.my question is, will it correct itself or will it require surgery to repair ,if the cartilage is indeed broken. if surgery will be required, how long should i wait before i know that the ear is not ever going to stand. i know you guys get tired of the same old questions over, and over, about puppy ears but this may have a different twist to it. thanks in advance for any help. just jt.
I've just helped a friend fix a pup's ears with an identical problem to yours. Look at Ed's page for taping ears. Use method 2 combined with method one (using the carboard part of a slimline tampon to support the ear to the top tip)for the one ear. If that hasn't worked after a week, I guess it may be a vet problem. If you need to know where to get the products for method 2 (and a diagram helps), email me or post here. Use bandage scissors with a blunt side if you aren't used to cutting tape on a squirmish pup. Saves cutting some of the ear off. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/laugh.gif" alt="" />
