As a history buff, I abhor the French for not only their cowardice in WWII, but also for their role in Vietnam. The french controlled vietnam and when the north rebelled, we, the USA pulled their butts out of the fire. How did they repay us? By withdrawing and leaving the fight to us. EvenvFrance's ethical credibility remains stained over its unconditional support for Rwanda until the early days of the Central African nation's 1994 genocide I applaud Ed's decision to not sell to them.
And before someone points out the spelling of my last name.....I am French Canadian ( or was, at least until my folks wised up and we made a dash to the good old U.S.A. )
God Bless you for not selling anything to the French.
I find it sad that they have such short memories concerning what America did for them.
I'm almost sure that just about every one on this Discussion Board has had a family member in at least one of the wars. And to think what France has done, is such a slap in the face to all who served to liberate them.
You go Ed! Never did like french wine or beignets either! Give me Robert Mondavi! Maybe they will offer Osama and Saddam a place for exile and give us an excuse......
I agree that the French ought to be ashamed of themselves, but what about the Russians and the Germans? Just because they aren't craven cowards who practically owe us their very lives doesn't mean their behavior in all this is any less despicable. Isn't there evidence that all three of these nations contributed to Iraq's war machine? If France is to be boycotted, shouldn't Russia and Germany be treated the same?
