Coming from the uk we are devoid of working GSD breeders, they are scarce with just a few dotted here and there with the best pups being snapped up by the police...
Having done a lot of surfing I would like to ask everyone which kennels in mainland Europe (Germany, Holland, Belguim, France etc)are the most famous and best for producing solely working line GSD's. I have found a lot whilst surfing but am not sure which ones have the reputation for producing the best dogs....??? Suggestions please??
http://www.ukk9.com go to vom haus nye
breed working lines from european imports
http://www.users.pandora.be/daelenberghutte
export dogs to england that are passported
as a matter of course to uk specifications
rinus is a very nice man and very very helpful
Show me your dog and i'll tell you what kind of man you are
I do actually have a lovely bitch coming from Rinus and you are right he is an excellent man to deal with.... Extremely helpful and professional!!
Really I was looking for sites I have not found yet.... Peko Haus, Bessecker Schlosz (if still around) Karthago and others etc... Any help would be appreciated!!
Cheers
Doesn´t U.K have strict rules when importing a dog, because U.K is rabiesfree, don´t you have to wait for about 6 months before you can bring the dog into U.K?
The Uk does have a quarantine period of 6 months but now there is a 'passport' scheme that allows a dog to come into the country after 6 months from the time of its first rabies shots.....
It is cheaper to have a dog looked after by the breeder than to use Uk quarantine kennels!!
Any opinions on Blackie v Neuen Land in the pedigree, and any links to the breeder if they are on line?
What type of work are you going to do with your dog? If you looking for workinglines GSDs and livíng in U.K, I think the best thing to do is to import a dog from Sweden, because they are also rabiesfree, so you don´t have to wait 6 month before you get the dog, probably much cheaper than buying a dog from germany, belgien, holland or other non-rabiesfree countries in europe.

Thanx for your help guys..
Cheers I have seen three dogs and know someone that had a son from him. I have also seen a few grandchildren. All of them, while I think two were small, all had great prey and hunt drive, and alot of aggression. Two were a little hard to handle, as there was some social aggression issue's with them.
What I have found with Gildo, is great working dogs, but they need alot of exposure to the outside world if they are going to be stable dogs later in life.
I had a litter that goes to Gildo and all were workable; out of the seven five are super dogs. While I have heard of hip trouble and one testicle males from Gildo, I have not seen it as a problem with him.
