my question is: does anyone has experiance or know anything about exercising a 7mo puppy with weghts.
the thing is, when go for walks wit her she pulls ALOT. She already knows to "heel" and "slow" but I'm forsed to let her pull for the most part just for the exercise. I resently started using weghts when walking her ( I use Home Depot heavy chains wraped in that vinil stuff for stearing wheels)
I cant imagine what youre talking about. if your dog pulls alot she doesnt know how to heel but even with that said why are you trying to figure out a way to use weights with your dog? You should be more concerned that the dog is developing healthy.Your gonna damage the dogs joints or hips or something. All a pup needs is a good diet and excersise. The dog has alot of growing yet.Take it easy man,let the dog grow up first.
Stop making excuses for your dog and start training it!
Is it me or is this just strange? Your dog pulls you so you think weights will slow her down? Are you training for pulling contests? Just what are the weights for? If the dog pulls, then make her stop. Get a prong collar, put it on and she will stop pulling. End of problem.
Also wondering if this would be considered cruelity. From what I think I understand, this dog is walking down the street wrapped in heavy chains. This is a puppy being forced to carry weights for some strange reason. I don't think this would sit well with the local humane sociaty.
Cut it out goofball. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/mad.gif" alt="" />
Try playing fetch, or frisbee. . .or god forbid. . .jog.
Leave the weights off for another 7 months, and then if that is what you want to do, get a dog pack. They are all over the internet and in pet stores. You can put weights in the dog packs. At least they are designed to harness in a way the dog can carry the weight correctly.
You ever looked into weight pulling? There are harness rigs for that as well.
I can't reply to your private message because I am on your ignore list.......Hmmmmmmm...... <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/confused.gif" alt="" /> <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/mad.gif" alt="" /> <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/wink.gif" alt="" /> <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/laugh.gif" alt="" />
