7-8 weeks seems to be accepted as the optimal
time to bring a pup into his new home.
Are there problems commonly associated with
bringing an older pup into a new home?
We are considering a pup close to four months
old. In your experience is this a bad idea and
if so why? I know there will be some broad
generalizations here and they are welcome as
much as personal experiences.
The pup in particular is the male under
'currently available' at sapphire shepherds
if this is relevant.
I don't think there is anything wrong woth bringing home an older pup, if the breeders know what they are doing and take the time to socialize...the pup.
As far as the pup on the sapphire page...if you are talking about a pup out of Rocky/Petra whelped 3/1/03...Petra's grandfather on the dam's side is a show lines. The temperament is very important on the dams side. If the show lines don't bother you...might not be a bad choice. There are other factors of course.
