"Working dog people do not care what their dogs look like and pay no attention to conformation. How can they assure their dog is of a proper working structure? The answer is they can't. Their dogs are never given a proper evaluation of their capabilites in the show ring. Their conformation is never assessed for proper working sturcture. They are too busy "working" their dogs"

If the dog can do the work it's handler requires then it is has a proper working structure. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif" alt="" />
I know you're not pushing this view and are posting it for our education/entertainment but I'm always surprised by show people that just don't get it. Having a long sloping back doesn't mean you can work. Doing the work means you can work. Sheesh

Please, please tell me this is a joke:
"The Ultimate Show Breeder worships at the throne of the Barbie doll. This wonderfully molded plastic icon is the perfect representation of the beauty of the female form, and we strive constantly to produce the perfect dog of our breed that so represents the ideal of the canine form."
This HAS to be a parody of show breeders. If it is it is pretty darned funny. It is dead on in exposing the farce of the show ring.

I'm sorry, but WHAT!? Is it just me, or what that statement completely without logic?

Thomas, I think you wanted to spice up your weekend! <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/laugh.gif" alt="" />
I looked over some other pages on that site, and it is either a farce on show breeding or the product of a mind so demented I might like to know the guy.
Here's a quote:
"The Ultimate Show Breeder worships at the throne of the Barbie doll. This wonderfully molded plastic icon is the perfect representation of the beauty of the female form, and we strive constantly to produce the perfect dog of our breed that so represents the ideal of the canine form.
Ultimate Show Breeding is a religion. We spend our Saturdays and our Sundars at the holy ring. We meditate daily on the conformation and structure; we study the ancient texts - the pedigrees and we pray continually over the holy script, the Standard."

And how's this one:
"If you don't agree with everything written here, we don't care what your opinion is, Puppymiller!
"
Now THAT is funny!
That is going to be my logo if I ever breed! <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/laugh.gif" alt="" />

And this (oh boy I'm having fun):
"Bitches are not mated until they have passed the age where all testable diseases can be detected (usually well into middle age) and the mating is usually done to a close relative. The result is Quality, not Quantity."
"Litters by the Ultimate Show Breeder are usually 1 - 3 live puppies, less in smaller breeds."
Less than one puppy??? <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/tongue.gif" alt="" />
OK last one:
"The extremes of conformation and structure achieved by constant progression toward the Ideal dog means the newborns are exceptionally weak and frail, often unable to nurse from the mother and must be bottlefed and given intense physical therapy ." Turning every 2 hours! Nurse's caps! <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/laugh.gif" alt="" /> <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/laugh.gif" alt="" /> <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/laugh.gif" alt="" />
I'm gonna bookmark this page, whenever I need a laugh! Thanks Thomas!

It has to be a parody site..
Too bad we exceeded their bandwidth. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/laugh.gif" alt="" /> <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/laugh.gif" alt="" /> If you want to visit this site, check back later. It is geochitties though, so it will be gone more than not.
