Please indulge me with one more question to the experts. This forum is the best thing I have ever found for my dogs well being. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif" alt="" />
I feed my rotties 18/mo and 14/yr Wellness Super 5, my little Bischon gets it too. I have never given supplements in addittion to their kibble. Am I neglecting their dietary needs by not doing this. I don't want to supplement for no reason but, I also don't want them to be needing something that the Wellness doesn't give them.
The Wellness makes the 18/mo dog a little loose in the stern but we can live with that aspect.
Thanks...Jerry <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/confused.gif" alt="" />
I find it easiest to give my dogs the supplement called Nupro. They love the taste, it's just sprinkled over their food, and it's got all the ingredients many people figure out the dosages and all in separate pills/mixes.
http://www.nuprostore.com/nuprodog.html has info. I use the joint mix, because I have an athletic agility dog and a senior. But the regular mix is more reasonably priced and just missing the joint stuff so also great.

Gerard,Everyone has their particular dogfood they feed. The best way to judge if you are doing the right thing in feeding..no matter what it is..Look at the coat..smell the breath.Look to see if the dog is doing any unusual scratching...etc Sometimes people are so very concerned that they are not doing the right thing..they just add additives upon additives..which really causes an imbalance.A key thing to look at is the feces of the dog..Is it loose or firm.Your one pup with the loose stool may need adjustment.Yes you can tell alot from feces.
