Hi all, I just was wondering if anyone outthere knows of any trainers or GSD breeders in japan. My wife and I will be heading there in May and I would love to be able to visit some dog people when I m there. Language will not be a problem as my wife is from Japan and speaks it like a first language. Let me know whats out there and how to contact them if there is a chance. I would also like to see if there is any police k9 departments that I could visit.
Well - Orry v h Antwerpa was sold to Japan, and some other dogs from Belgium as well. I have a pup from a son of Orry born in Japan...kennel name von haus Shiho - they bred a couple of litters that I know of from Orry, and pups ended up back in Belgium...so if you can get someone to search for that kennel, it might be a start.

David, Dean Calderon lived for a few years in Japan working dogs for some "well off" clients.
I don't know who he was working for, but that might be a place to start your inquires.
Never been to Japan (boy i wish to go <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif" alt="" /> ), but remember this from interview with mr. Masuda: Japan Schutzhund Club.
