I just got my first catalog from Jeffers and found out that i can give shots at home, to both my dam and any of her pups that will be born. Is this a good thing to do? How many of you out there give your dogs/pups shot at home/kennel?
Is there anything i should look for in regards to this? Do i need to be trained to do this or should i just let the vet do all shots for upcoming puppies. I feel that i could do this but don't want to break any laws. ANY help in this will be uesd.

You need to look at the laws for your state. In Florida, we can give our own shots, except for rabies. I have one vet that will accept my shots that I give to my pups (have to provide s/n, lot#, etc) and one that won't, but rabies here is non-negotiable. I normally do their 5 and 6 wk (kennel, then puppy shot) and let the vet do their 8 wk shots. I do all my own adult dogs, but laws vary by state.
I did mine at home too, and the vet is not happy. I'm not sure what Ohio laws says exactly, but I had no problem purchasing the rabies vaccine, though I don't fell comfortable giving that one myself. I'm going to let the vet do the rabies.
will look in to local laws and stste laws. I can cet most like provo/distemper/carona and kennel cough. But i can not get rabbies. I live in New york ,and your help is appresheated
