The numbers represent where this dog can be found in the pedigree 3-3 means 3rd generation on both side 2-4 means 2 genration and 4th generation. If this isn't correct please correct me.
Thanks for the info. So linebreeding means that both sire and dam have common ancestors? Are there general guidelines on how far back in the pedigree these need to be to avoid inbreeding?
Sorry if this is straying too far off the original topic, but I've been curious about this for a while.
Thanks
Scott
Any line-breeding before the 4th generation concerns me, but if all dogs are stable Like Angela said in her first reply. I would think about buying one. If the litter showed consistent drive and nerves.
My new pup has these line breeding
4 - 5 in G Orry von Haus Antverpa
4 - 5 in Bella vom Kirchgraben
3 - 4 in SG Qerry von Haus Antverpa
Getting back to the topic. I think the combo in the pup Travis is looking up could be a nice dog. I'd want to do the Flink test to evaluate his nerves and drives.
Actually you may want to get input from Koos (Tiekerhook) on this linebreeding since he has repeated it @ least (3) times since he "experimented" with it last year.
The pups were actually 2-2 on Nick Heiligenbosch. I have pictures of them in my email and he spoke highly about the results of them.
You can go to the site since he has updated pics of the pups linebred 2-2 on Nick on his website.
But I would put strong consideration into it before doing it and make sure you have very positive things from both dam and sire since you're going to "capture" a lot their strong (or weak) points with such close linebreeding.
