Hi all, I've read all Ed's articles on natural diet, the book "Natural Nutrition for Cats and Dogs", and most postings in this forum, but I am still uncertain about what to supplement. The more I read, the more I get confused. I understand that a all natural diet without proper ingredients, (i.e. supplements), can do more harm than good, so is it better to supplement kelp, alfalfa, vitamin c, and salmon oil? Or Could I just go with commercial supplements such as "The Missing Link" in the bone meal and forgo other supplements. I know there are no straight answer on this topic and I appreciate any advice, thanks.
We use Feed-Sentials for K9 and Shemp Oil. It's a pretty comprehensive supplement, rounding out a diet and supplying all necessary vitamins/minerals for dogs. The first time we used it, we noticed eyes clearing up (and we thought they were clear before), coats looking much healthier, and dogs retaining weight on less food. I haven't found anything else that gives you all the essentials as much as it does.
It's made by a breeder of working GSDs in Canada and she's had it analyzed just like you would when putting a new supplement on the market on a large scale. It's not a large scale production unit, she makes it herself. I've been using it for nearly two years now and recently agreed to be a distributor for her in the Southern States. As far as I know, it's only available through a few people, a couple of stores in her area (Ontario), and her directly. If you want more info (ingredients list, pricing, contact info) then just send me a PM or email and I'll answer as best I can or send you directly to the source.
