Hi everyone got another question. This is the first time Kane has really shedded heavily. I had a grooming rake which works but wasnt really getting the undercoat too well. So I went out and bought and undercoat brush...called Groomers Choice I think. Anyways... works like an undercoat rake but is wider (5 rows of teeth) intead of 1 row like some. On the package it actually said that you should be carefull not to take out oo much of the undercoat. Is this true? Can you take out too much? I can brush Kane twice a day everyday and still get wads of hair. Undercoat isnt too thick on his sides more by his rear end and back legs. Whats the rule to brushing? Do you brush until all the loose hair is out or as long as the dog isn't going bald ? LOL I was just a little surprised about what it said on the package.
Also I was wondering about shampoo that claimes to enhance black coats. Does that stuff really work? Kane had skin problems which he is over now. Hes on a raw diet... supplements, no more yeast on skin. Seems healthy yet he still has a red tint to his black coat. I was wondering if this shampoo would help. I have heard that some things you feed your dog can turn the coat red but being on a RAW diet I cant figure it out.
I have never heard that, nor has our groomer. There is a device called the mars coat king that you can overuse, but it has blades on it not tines. We have the black coat shampoo here and she said that it makes the coat shiny, but couldn't say it would get the red out.
