Just want to warn everyone, about a fake paypal site out there, I was buying a damn clatter stick, 2 days ago, and now My savings has been wiped out, and they left me with $1,178.00 in my checking, Just enough to for house payment and a car note, This site looks just like paypal, but goto http://www.paypal.com and read about how to recognize fake paypal websites. With me My computer got hijacked and it sent me to a fake site that didn't say http://www.paypal.com, so if your address bar doesn't say paypal your on a fake site, thats one way. Well, I'm going to go get a beer now!! or a few!

Ebay is having the same problems. I get emails that look and say copyright by Ebay and really look legit but when you open them, or see who they are from, it is some weird advertising agency that wants you to update your profile info and I assume that includes some kind of payment info.
I always call and verify the company is real people and ask tons of questions before I buy over the internet.

Did the site you bought the clatterstick fake the paypal site. Or did someone troll your email account cold with a message saying your information at paypal needed to be updated.

Chris, Sorry to hear of your deception. What a bummer. I just got a 2nd e-mail stating that my PayPal account is suspended because 'someone' did an illegal transaction and I must log on with my 'special' account #. yeah, right...
Deleted. I'm still using my PayPal, some suspension. And I do buy 'Dog Stuff' with Paypal!

No I caught it as it happened but didn't know what was happening. It wasn't the website I was purchasing from, when I clicked to log onto paypal, my computer started clicking, that looking for the webpage click, and what I noticed was my url no longer said http://www.paypal/?whatever.com it said something like US1center1.net or something like that. but the "paypal" site looked legit, it had all the links, and then it said, you need to verify your information in your paypal account, as they suspect someone attempted to fraudulently access my account. That I couldn't proceed because my account was being limited until verification was complete, Like a dummy I did. I have been told they have equipment that as you click on a mastercard/visa/AE/discover, paypal button their computer can automatically hijack your computer and send you to their fake pay site. It's simple (now I know to tell if your on their site or not, as long as paypal is in the url address bar, your good, if it doesn't say paypal in the url but the paypal website is up your on a fake page. They can't by web addresses with paypal in the address. They were able to get into my online banking account and that is as good as you being present in a bank making transactions. They know the money was sent to the dominican republic and after the money was transfered the account closed. Their obviously suspecting it was a straw account. It's easier to leave no trace doing it over seas, then I'm told the real person gets wired the money here in the states, and the person who closed the account gets a cut and they start over. They also usually have people at the banks working with them to set up the fake accounts to get the money put into. What I'm wondering is why my bank didn't contact me, they are saying in some cases they do, but they are not obligated to check on transactions under $25,000.00 Well I'm sorry for being average F*&**&^ Joe
