I know an adult dog should get between 2 and 4% of body weight on raw diets, but what about puppies? My GSD is 10 wks and weighs about 20 lbs (we do plan to get an exact weight before making calculations). Do I need to include veggies, eggs, or anything besdies RMB's, muscle meat, and organ meat? How much meat should be *on* a RMB?
There are two schools of thought on how much to feed a pup, but they aren't that far off from each other with the large breeds. one is 7-10% of the pups current weight and the other is 2-3% of the estimated final weight of the adult dog.
As far as veggies, it depends on who you ask. I don't give veggies to my dogs any more, and I see no differance at all, as compared to when I did give them veggies. I do make sure to vary their diet though. They get beef, pork, and chicken twice a week each and fish once a week. I also only give organ meat twice a week, but I give enough to cover the full week of organ weight.
a RMB should be about 50% meat and 50% bone. If it has more meat, thats ok, but that should count torwards the muscle meat as well.
