In another discussion someone had stated that as an alternative to using psuedo drugs and someone unable to posess the real stuff while waiting for their dea license can ask another dept. etc to scent some terry towels etc with the drug scent. Does anyone know how long this scent will remain and should this article remain sealed in a ziploc bag until use or can it just remain loose in a trunk etc. without picking up the scents of other objects in the trunk that may over power the scented only article?
The scent will keep for quite sometime but I always liked to use the freshest scent as I could.
Less cloth on a find = less scent.
A dog teaches a boy fidelity, perseverance, and to turn around three times before lying down. - Robert Benchley
In order to really enjoy a dog, one doesn't merely try to train him to be semi-human. The point of it is to open oneself to the possibility of becoming partly a dog. - Edward Hoagland
Go to a paint store and get 1 gallon paint cans (the kind that do not have enamel on the inside) and use those for storage.
works great for meth, marijuana, and heroin because you can smell these things. if you cannot smell it on the aides don't use it.
I've found the paint cans work extremely well. They are very affordable, come in different sizes and easy to mark. Each of our handlers have a set of training aids issued to them, and they are issued in paint cans. That also makes them easy to inventory. Over time, cocaine in particular will cause a can to corrode, and it's easy to replace.

Thanks everyone I would have never thought about using paint cans, and Dennis you're right about using the freshest scent but, aat this time for our dept things are either scarce or the evidence officer is holding back LOL
