I am having an itching problem with my 3 month GSD. She recently had a staff infection and was put on an antibiotic. Since then her rash has cleared but she is extremely itchy. She will sit and cry until we scratch her then she is perfectly content. Any suggestion?
She has only had her second puppy shot <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/confused.gif" alt="" />
I dont know what to do. She is so miserable, and i feel so bad there is nothing i can do. We gave her bath last night that was supposed to relieve the itching and it did for about a half hr.

Dogs can be so incredibly miserable when they're itchy. Their histamine receptors are mostly in the skin, so things that might make us have a runny nose or a sneeze, etc., usually hit them in the skin.
I'va had more experience than I would like in the area of itchy dogs, because of rescuing dogs with multiple severe allergies. So I might overreact.......just telling you that up-front!
I would (1) call the vet, and meanwhile (2) try to break the itch cycle. Try one of the many excellent suggestions on this board (I PM'd you some thread URLs), such as spray "Relief" made by DVM.
