I left Donut outside by himself for about 15 minuts. Not, in the heat of the day but at roughly 8pm. I don't think it could be heat stroke because it is no where as hot tonight as it has been all summer. I heard him barking for a couple minutes, went to see what he was barking at. He was lying on the ground and couldn.t get up. I didn't see a snake, but Donut has some symptoms of sakebite. I 've rushed him to the vet and he doesn't know what the hell is wrong. I' They gave him something for shock, antihistamine I think, started a drip. I'm on my laptop trying to keep my head on straight before I hurt someone. God help me if someone poisined my pup.

Oh, no........oh, God. Waiting for the vet's call or sitting in the waiting room have made up some of the worst moments of my life (along with many others on the board, I am certain).
Please keep us posted. My thoughts won't be away from Donut for a second.
My family has just brought my Ava she is throwing up andd can't take the thought of losing both my babies. The vet has asked me to leave that there's nothing I can do but pray.It is in God's hand now.

You have a vet -- thank God -- available in this time of emergency. The vet will be able to keep them comfortable and stabilized, no matter what.

My Prayers are with you! <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/frown.gif" alt="" />
The only think I can say is that rat poison or slugbait usually takes a little longer to process in the body.....it sounds like it may be an allergic reaction..and I know nothing about snakebites. Please keep us posted!!

My vet believes it was poison. He told me not to expect much. Donut was comatose with dilated pupils and doesn't expect him to make it. Ava came in throwing up with diarrhea and foaming at the mouth. She collapsed ,right now the vet has done all he can. He sent me home and said he would call me early in the morning. The reason I know this was intentional is my neighbor brought her cat in about 30 minutes to hour ago. I don't know what's going on but my two dogs and my next door neighbors cat.
