I would be glad to share my opinions with you while not ridiculing but giving you an honest answer, because it depends.
QUESTIONS:
____________
WHAT ACCOMPLISHMENTS HAVE YOU DONE WITH THE DOG, ANY TITLES?
IF NO TITLES, WHAT LEVEL OF TRAINING IS THE DOG AT, WHAT IS HE DOING FOR YOU.
DO YOU KNOW ATLEAST 3 GENERATIONS BACK EVERY DOG SIRES & DAMS?
IF YOU HAVE A FEMALE IN MIND ANSWER THE SAME QUESTIONS FOR HER.
AWAY FROM WORK WHAT IS THE DOGS TEMPERMENT AROUND PEOPLE AND STRANGE THINGS.
WHAT IS YOUR PURPOSE FOR WANTING TO BREED?
WHAT TYPE OF PEOPLE DO YOU BELIEVE WILL BE INTRESTED IN YOUR PUPS OR HOPE TO BE?
IF THEY ARE TO BE WORKING DOGS, DO YOU KNOW ENOUGH TO SUCCESSFULLY BEGIN THEIR IMPRINTING?
This will be all the questions for now. Answer these and I may have some more and I am sincerely going to attempt to help you make an informed decision. This post is not meant to put you on the spot and ridicule you. Breeding is not something to take lightly and if you have to ask what age can a male start breeding, you may need someone to help you get some insight into whether this is a good idea or not. I would say for someone new to dogs or working dogs, to wait and not breed until you have learned enough to know what it takes to be a good breeder and have a specific purpose for breeding. However people will still do what they want so saying don't breed right now with out giving you solid reasons pertaining to your dog and situation won't help any, and who knows, newbies CAN run into some excellent dogs that maybe worthy of being bred and this maybe your case, but atleast make an informed decision. Take Care

Ginger,
I mean this in a nice way, but you shouldn't breed the dog, period. The breeding isn't going to contribute anything to the improvement of the breed, and the reason that you're planning to breed is a poor one. Your dog is a pet, neuter him.
Send your friends to the local Humane Society and have them adopt a shelter dog - everyone wins there.
