I did a quick search on the top 25's pedigrees. The one dog that seemed pop up the most in the first 3 generations was Orry von Haus Antverpa the only other 2 time winner. Orry was within the 3rd generation of
1.Eros vd Mohnwiese
3. Xander van't Enclavehof
8. Zender v. Lusondai
9. Gringo von der Mohnweise
10. Katte vom Blitzen-Stein
12. Lymmels Castro
24. Bacteroides Suopo
Tracy- What is the difference between the BSP and the WUSV. I'm guessing one is an international event and the other is just Germany. Are they both Schutzhund? It seems you do alot of pedigree research and I was curious if you had check out the BSP pedigrees as well.
If, you look at the top 25's first 3 generations at the BSP. It's V Troll von der bösen Nachbarschaft and V Fero vom Zeuterner Himmelreich pop up the most. I'm a newbie at sch but yes the WUSV and the BSP are sch events only for GSD's.
The World FCI championships is also sch but it is open to all working breeds. I like the idea of a open world championship because it would push breeders to improve the GSD. If you look at the dogs entered at the FCI there were more GSD's entered than Mal's but look at the results Mal's
out-performed.
To me the biggest difference between the WUSV and BSP is the team aspect. This give a country the bragging rights and at the WUSV Germany and Belgium dominate. In my opinion, Belgium is producing better dogs. I don't think the Belgians are caught up with conformation and looks. The Belgians bred for performance.
Yes Casey that is correct. The BSP (Bundesseigerprufung) is an event held in Germany and the WUSV varies in which country it is held (2009 USA!!!) and includes German Shepherds from most major countries competing.
I think the fact that Troll and Fero pop up the most doesn't necessarily say how well these dogs are producers (although they did produce well) but one has to realize these days it's becoming increasingly harder and harder to find dogs without Troll and Fero; particularly Fero. Let's call it a "Fero spider web" we're getting into. LOL :: kidding:
We do appreciate Tracy's oh so common "investigative work". :-)
He might suprise you sometimes. He dug hard in an upcoming litter of mine to note that 12 of the 16 dogs came thru Bernd Lierberg. That's Tracy! Just when I thought I had nothing more to do than look up dog stuff all day, everday while at work. LOL
Lorenzo, I would have pm you. When I tried, it said you were over the limit. If you do a 10 generation search of Acha's or Bruna's litter with Zidane. 7 out of the 8 dogs in the puppies 3rd generation have Bernd Lierberg within their 7 generation pedigree. The only dog that didn't go back to Bernd was Erika Mat-Roz she goes back to Gin Lierberg (Bernd's sister).
