How could someone do that to a dog? They should hang those responsible. Not long enough to kill them, just long enough for them to think about what they've done. And black out.

Yes. The reward will be a good start. These people need to be caught NOW. I applaud the Sun, whose editor decided to run the picture at the request of the RSPCA and also decided to offer the substantial reward.

That's absolutely sickening. But the kids who probably did it will most likely get away with it, odds are they are under 18, and with the way their laws work there, you're more protected by the law if you commit a crime than if you are a victim of a crime. I think they should be sentenced to 3 years of daily decoy work without a bite suit <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif" alt="" />

I know what you mean, about the law there (and here). But the reward will help, I think.......and at the very least, maybe the criminals will get psychiatric help. If caught, they should be watched like a hawk for life. They say that kids who start out abusing animals make the jump to human abuse/homicide/crime very quickly and easily.
Hopefully the poor thing wasn't tortured before being hung. I've heard of kids who burned their animals, and I've run into a website that described what happens when a cat is microwaved (I sincerely hope that was a fake site).
It's a sick world filled with sick people. Where the HECK is PETA for all this?! They lament hunters who usually are thousands of times more kind that these sickos (no comparison, really), and destroy research labs, and yet where are they for these animal abusers and puppy millers?!? <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/mad.gif" alt="" /> Such rampant dysfunction! Ach, pardon my rant..

there is no effective psych treatment for sociopathic behavior, plus the lovely little fact that those offenders have a *very* high repeat rate.
And studies of most serial killers show that the vast majority of them were animal torturer's. It's sort of a training step for them to work their way up to humans.
